The Nord Panels presswood pallet is a monolithic structure made of birch chips pressed under high temperature and pressure. Lightweight, strong, nestable and ready for export without phytosanitary treatment.

What is a presswood pallet?

Unlike a conventional pallet nailed together from boards, a presswood pallet is formed as a single piece. Birch chips are mixed with a binder and pressed at 160 °C under high pressure.

Why a Presswood Pallet

How the presswood pallet beats a conventional wooden one — especially for export.

  • No fumigation (ISPM-15): made from heat-treated wood — it requires no phytosanitary treatment or IPPC stamp. Ready for international shipment immediately.
  • Savings on logistics: the pallets nest into one another. Up to 4× more empty pallets fit in one truck — fewer trips, lower delivery costs.
  • Low weight: dead weight of ≤ 16 kg — lighter than its wooden counterpart. Lower shipment weight, easier manual handling, lower transport costs.
  • No nails or splinters: a one-piece construction with no metal. Safe for automated lines, does not damage goods or packaging.
  • Consistent quality: identical dimensions, weight and strength in every batch. Predictable performance on conveyors, in AS/RS systems and palletisers.
